Gerald “Jared” Fortunato is a fine art photographer whose nomadic childhood sparked a lifelong fascination with the natural world as a way to interpret identity and emotion.

His work incorporates elements shaped by their environments—exploring the psychological dimension of place and the mercurial nature of perception.

Working with both digital and film processes, Fortunato creates photographs that communicate symbolic meaning through form and atmosphere. His intent is for each piece to move beyond the literal boundaries of the physical world, inhabiting a contemplative space between what is seen and what is felt.

His work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York. Fortunato earned his MFA in Photography from the Academy of Art University.
